Our vacation started around 3:00 on June 11. We drove down to
Wytheville, Va. and stayed the night at a Super 8. It was a little challenging getting the kids to sleep. At one point, Lily said "I'm done sleeping" after about 20 minutes of laying in bed. We got back on the road around 9 the next day and finally pulled into Grammy and Grandpa's driveway about 4 p.m.

On Sunday, after eating brunch at the Manor House, we took the kids down to the pool. Grammy had to work that day.
It was really hot every day we were there. In the mid-90s most days. That didn't help my morning sickness. In case you are reading this and haven't heard, I'm pregnant :)

Grandpa putting Lily in the pool.

Lily loved being in her ring.

We didn't have a
floatie for Dillon, but we bought one the next day for him.

Good juice!

Later that day, we went to the beach. We didn't expect to let the kids go swimming but they ended up going and had a blast. Clean-up was quite fun, though.

The next evening we went for a boat ride. Lily and Dillon weren't big fans, I think because they have to wear the life jackets.
Owell, maybe next time.

Playing with toys in Grammy and Grandpa's new living room.

We took the kids to the YMCA a couple times. It was nice because it was indoors so we didn't need to worry about the sun and heat, but it got crowded both days we went. Luckily, the kids don't last too long, so we got in some good swimming before all the summer camp kids came.

On Tuesday evening, we drove up to Myrtle Beach to eat at
Abuelo's Mexican restaurant and walk on the new boardwalk.

We also went to the state park pier

Dillon slept in the crib that Anson used to sleep in! With a new
mattress, of course. Dillon looks upset because he thought Daddy was putting him back to bed. He didn't understand that Daddy just wanted a photo.

On Wednesday we drove to Top Sail Beach after having fun at
Grammy's restaurant (The Ball & Que). Pickle loved the closet and all the freedom.

On Thursday we went down to the beach. But, after we were there for about an hour, a storm came and chased us off the beach. We never made it back down there (so much work with 2 little ones), and we left a day early because I wasn't feeling so well.
Video of us telling Lily (and Dillon) about the new baby in mommy's tummy. We wanted her to break the news to Grammy and Grandpa when we got there. She did it perfectly. On cue she said "I'm gonna have another brother or a sister!" We couldn't have asked for a better performance.
Video of us at the beach with Grammy and Grandpa. Anson is swinging Dillon around and he loves it!
