Weekend in Cincy

This weekend, Anson, Lily and I went down to Ft. Thomas, Kentucky (near Cincinnati) to visit with Anson's Uncle and Aunt and their 7 kids. We had a great time, and Lily had fun playing with all the kids. We drove down Friday night and got there around 10. Saturday we all went to the Children's Museum for a few hours, then we went to Skyline Chili. The Children's Museum is a great place for kids. There is so much for kids to do. The kids' favorite area is a make believe area where there is a diner for them to serve their parents, a veterinarian office, a grocery store with cute little shopping carts, a post office, a garage where they can fix their cars. It's a great place. Dennis and Jeanne have an annual membership so they can go all the time. Saturday night we hung out at home. Sunday morning we went to church. Sunday afternoon we hung out at their house until 4.

Then, on the way home, we stopped at Carmen and Jodie's house in Mason, which is about 30 minutes north of Dennis and Jeanne's. We went to dinner with them to the Olive Garden. They have two kids, Bella who is 2 1/2 and Blaze who is 11 months. Carmen is an old friend of Anson's. They went to high school together and lived together for awhile. I know Carmen from McDonald's. He was a manager like Anson and was certainly part of the orginial McDonald's gang. Although we haven't kept in close contact with him over the years, it was great to see him and his beautiful family.

We had a great weekend. We got home last night around 10:45.

Lily and Anson are both napping right now. Today we've been cleaning, doing laundry, Anson went to the grocery store...basically recovering from the weekend. I had today off work for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Anson took a day of vacation.

Michael (6 months) and Lily (8 months) looking at themselves in the mirror. There was a baby area where parents could take their babies to play. Bigger kids aren't allowed in.
Rachel was a little Mom to Lily at the Museum. She took her everywhere and showed her all the baby-sized things to play with.
I think Lily got a little overstimulated. She wasn't really herself and she did get upset a few times. She wasn't really used to all the kids around and all the commotion.
She looks so tired in this picture

"The woods" have tunnels and ropes to climb on and through. The kids made Anson go through the tunnels with him. They played hide and seek.
Looking down from the rope bridge at Dennis, Jeanne and the babies.
Anson hiding his eyes while the kids hid. Either that, or he's peeing in the corner. We aren't too sure.

The museum wore Babe out, so he took a nap when we got home. Lily and I also took a nap but upstairs in the bed.

Lily's first Big Girl Bath. She had fun splashing around in the water. We are going to take the shower doors off of our tub so that Lily can graduate to the big girl tub at home too.
After Lily's bath, the girls wanted to do Lily's hair. They put it up in a ponytail atop her head. It was adorable. Miss Sarah taking a photo of herself.
Blurry photo, but it's cute with Anson, the hat and the babies.
Lily all dressed up for church. This will probably be the last time she wears this precious dress. It was kinda tight on her, but isn't she so cute? Esp, with the ponytail and bow.

Family picture

I couldn't resist taking these photos this morning. Lily's hair is so funny from the ponytail. The top one look like she's hungover! I suppose she is hungover from such a busy weekend. She had just got done eating Chicken Noodle Dinner.
Lily's Newest Things: She can wave hi and bye bye. She does this in the morning when she sees Grandma V and when Anson and I are leaving for work. She's so precious. I'll have to try to get it on camera. Also, she can pick up her binky and put it in her mouth. She's so amazing. Still no crawling. It will come very soon. I'll actually glad she's still somewhat immobile. Still no teethers either. Those will come soon, I'm sure.

WOW, what great pictures! It looks like you really had a good time.

Rachael looks like she really had a good time helping with Lily.

I love the picture of Lily with the bow in her hair, sitting up all dressed up for church. How can I print a copy?

Love, Mom C
